Learn To Swim
Our Learn to Swim programme is tailored for children from the age of approximately 3½ years and above. Following the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming our classes progress through the varying levels onto an early competitive standard. In the early stages our aim is to initiate water confidence and safety in and around the pool; acquiring basic skills and stroke technique. There are many steps in the programme where the swimmers will earn certificates and incentives on the way.
Swimmer’s confidence, fitness and stroke technique will improve at each step enabling the majority of swimmers to enjoy the freedom of being able to swim whether in a social or competitive arena. Once at the top of the Learn to Swim ladder we then cater for the progressive/early competitive swimmer.
Furthermore swimmers can be selected to enter our comprehensive squad system where they may have the opportunity to compete in our club championships and go on to represent the Club.
