London Winter Short Course Championships

The Killerwhales team made a splash at the London Winter Short Course Championships, held last weekend at the iconic London Aquatics Centre.  A strong squad of 15 swimmers represented the club, and faced stiff competition from some of the best swimmers across the region.  Each swimmer showed incredible determination, with the swimmers delivering  100% effort and achieving impressive results.  

A huge well done to Eleni C, Emily S, Henry J, Lewis H, Maisy J, Tom G and Zain K.

The weekend was filled with standout performances, with Archie P, Stanley P, Erik E and Alanna H reaching finals in a highly competitive field.

In the longer distance races (400m and beyond), Cayden S, Max P, Poppy J and Joshua K secured top ten finishes.

Some of these swimmers were competing at this level for the first time, helping the club climb from 20th place in last year’s points table to 12th place this year.  While qualifying for finals and securing top ten finishes were outstanding accomplishments, simply achieving qualifying times for such a prestigious competition was a huge achievement for all our swimmers.
